Looking for something special to spruce up your wardrobe or home? Look no further than the IHR (I Heart Rummage) urban craft show and sale on Sunday, April 6th!

Featuring over 40 of “the Northwest’s most innovative indie designers,” it’s held on the first Sunday of every month at Chop Suey. In addition to the multitudes of eclectic handmade wares, there’s a live DJ and admission is always free.

Seattle Events for the Week of 2/14

Thursday, February 14 (8-9:30 pm)
Relax this Valentine’s Day with a heart meditation. Join in the “heart of peacefulness” or “opening the heart” half-hour meditation sessions at the World for Meditation.

Saturday, February 16 - Monday, February 18 (10 am - 6pm)
Head over to the Pacific Science Center for Strange Matter Weekend! Complete with 40 interactive exhibits, entertainment, and workshops, it’s great fun for the whole family.

Saturday, February 16 - Sunday, February 24
The 2008 Seattle Home Show is at the Quest Field Event Center, featuring 500 displays of home and garden products for guests. There will also be free seminars for those in attendance, as well as great decorating ideas.

Saturday, February 16- Monday, February 18
Check out the Seattle Center for Festival Sundita: African American Celebration which honors African American heritage through dance, music, and a marketplace.

Saturday, December 1 (11 am - 5 pm)
The third annual Urban Craft Uprising will be held this weekend at the Seattle Center Exhibition Hall. With 120 eclectic indie crafters selling their handmade wares, this is a hip place to get your holiday shopping done!

Saturday, December 1 (1 - 10 pm)
The third annual (hmm…seems to be a trend in Seattle…) Winter Beer Festival will be hosted by the Washington Beer Commission. Featuring winter warmer beers from over 30 local breweries, you’re certain to find a new drink of choice for this chilly season.

Saturday, December 1 (12 - 7 pm)
Join Floating Leaves Tea as they showcase their new Japanese teas and antique Japanese teawares. Tastings are available as you sign up at the door as well as demonstrations for making mochi and Takoyaki.

Saturday, December 1 - Sunday, December 2 (noon & 4 pm)
The Seattle Center presents two free showings of regional and international dance selections as part of Winterfest 2007. See everything from modern dance to ballet and martial arts at this spectacular show.

Try a Slice of History at Pike Place Market

The Seattle Times recently reported that the historic Pike Place Market appears on the American Planning Association’s 10 great American neighborhoods. If you’re planning a trip to Seattle, then Pike Place should definitely be on your list of things to see. In fact, this bustling market is often called the “Soul of Seattle” and celebrated its 100th anniversary this past summer.
